| Lulu at home with Rossi and 'Dad' |
LULU. We are delighted to be able to report that Lulu has at last gone
home to live with Rossi. We expected Lulu to come to us from Ireland just after Christmas but unfortunately she caught
kennel cough and it took longer than usual for her to recover. News that she was coming was quickly dispelled with further
news that she was coughing again! However after a week she eventually came over. We kept her for a few days to have
her micro chipped bathed and groomed but fate took a hand again and when she went to the Groomer it was found that she
was in season! How unlucky can one girl get! Season finished, was introduced to Rossi (who is neutered) all was
good and Lulu has gone home to Gloucestershire where they have waited for many many weeks for her. We are looking forward
to hearing how things are progressing and maybe some good pictures of the pair for the 2011 Calendar. Thank you the
Pople family for waiting for our lovely Lulu.
Eddie. Eddie has gone to live in
Berkshire. We look forward to seeing pictures of him in his new home.
FINN. Finn, who was homed in early December but most unfortunately
had to come back because of Bird Scarers in the fields behind his home. These terrified poor Finn who was even frightened
to go into his garden. He is now in a new home where there are no Bird Scarers. We are all looking forward to
hearing that he is happily settling in a low noise home.

|
| PERCY is settling into his new home. |
PERCY. Percy, 10 year old neutered lad seems to have struck lucky at last.
Percy went to live with our Meg and her owners, but things did not work out and Percy came back after only 5 days. His
new owners are well able to cope with Percy's habit of being very vocal to other dogs when he is on a lead. In the home
he is a loving and gentle boy and I know that Ian and his Dad will be able to persuade Percy that swearing at other dogs is
not a good idea. We look forward to hearing all about Percy in his new home.
|
|
| Poppy happy in her new home. |
POPPY. Poppy is settling very well into her new home. She is loving all
the fun and games and attention she is getting. Poppy's new Mum says that Poppy's previous owner must have put
a lot of training in as Poppy is so very well behaved. She is off the lead and running free every day and comes back
every time. She has put on some weight and is looking very good. We look forward to having news about her as she
grows up.
CHARLIE. Charlie has gone to his new home, looking a million dollars after
his make-over with Groomer Corinna. He has gone to Kent to live with Audrey and we look forward to hearing all about
him and seeing pictures of him.

|
| RUBY now happily rehomed again with companion Buddy. |
RUBY. Ruby came into our care in July 2009 and went to her new home
within days! We placed her in a lovely home with four adults to love, care and spoil her. She attended the 2009
Setter Party with her owners in September, winning some rosettes and looking so pretty. We were more that surprised
a month or two later to learn that Ruby was coming back into Rescue - the reason, she was not as affectionate as Setters they
had owned before and they felt that Ruby needed the company of another dog. Well they were right! Ruby is now
in Suffolk and happy as a sand boy with companion Buddy. Setters are really people dogs and we were so surprised to
know that to be happy, Ruby needed not only loving owners but a canine friend as well. Ruby is a different dog, loving
to her owners and happy with Buddy. We live and Learn!

and appreciated by her new owners. Meg does miss her sister Esther and she will probably be joined in the near future
by our lovely Charlie. Perhaps they will feature in the 2011 Calendar.
BETH. We are delighted that the wonderful 14 year old Beth was able to be reunited
with the owner who has had her since she was a puppy. Steve and his family had to move into rented accommodation but
were unable to take his three bitches, Meg, Esther and Beth. We already had an offer for a home for Beth and Meg together
when we were told that the family now found that they could have one dog in the rented accommodation. We were
very pleased to let them have Beth back again. It was wonderful to see the greeting that Beth gave to Steve when she
saw him again last Saturday. We wish the family some happy times with Beth.
GABRIEL. Gabriel has gone to live with his new 'Mum' and
'Dad' in Suffolk. This handsome young fellow is settling in slowly, having never lived by himself without the
company of another dog he is feeling a bit lost at present. He will soon get to love being the only one, getting all the fuss
and attention that Setters love to have. We look forward to seeing pictures of him in his
new surroundings and enjoying the countryside.

| Searca with Best Friend Louie |
SEARCA. Searca is happily settled in her new home with her Best Friend

with boundless energy. We are so happy that we were able to find her these wonderful people who love her to bits
PRIMROSE. Primrose is settling in with her new family in Sussex. She is
learning so many new things and considering she had little or no training, she is very quick at learning all the lessons her
new family are teaching her. She is not yet cat friendly, but is being taught that she must tolerate other animals.
I am sure we will be hearing lots and lots about young Primrose as she grows up.
ESTHER. Esther has gone to live with Harry who lost Rio earlier this year.
Harry is the perfect owners for Esther as he can give her all the attention she wants and be with her all day. She is

setter want. We look forward to receiving pictures of her soon.

ROSIE. Rosie has gone to her new home in Cornwall. Her new owners made the long journey to Essex to collect
her. They spent some time with her the day before and on the morning they came to take her home she recognized them
and was excited to be going. We wish Rosie and her new 'Mum' and 'Dad' many happy years together and
look forward to hearing how she is getting along.

|
|
| Rusty happy in his new home. |
YOUNG RUSTY. Rusty went to his new home
in Surrey on July 26th. Poor Rusty has been through the Mill. Before leaving the kennels it was discovered that he had some
Grass Seeds in his foot and an operation was carried out to remove them. Unfortunately, in his new home it was discovered
that he had another grass seed in the other foot and that had to be removed. Unbelievably a lump came up on the leg
where the first grass seeds were discovered and yet another grass seed was found and removed. Young Rusty is now thriving
on four good legs.

took me to this place where the grass has turned yellow & has a big lake attached to it, the water taste funny though.
I got used to all planes flying over roaring away but I knew when it thundered. Being off the lead was great, but my recall
takes something to be desired so they'll have to be patient. Lots of love ODIE xxxxxx.

Louis.
Louis went home today,Monday May 11th 2009. His long journey to happiness has ended - from a stray on the streets of
Dublin, where a man with two Boxers found him a temporary home with a neighbour, thence into a Rescue until Gill Brady managed
to get him out for us. Louis stayed with Gill after his operation to remove a small lump from his mouth which thankfully
proved to be benign. During his recovery he made friends with Gill's German Shepherd and her cats and in his mind he was home.
A sad Louis came over from Ireland on Saturday, where was his Aunty Gill and his friends? However, after a lovely bath and
trim today and looking his best he travelled all the way to Shropshire - home at last!! More pictures of Louis with his new
family soon.

| Hooch so happy in his new home. |
HOOCH.
Our lovely friendly boy Hooch went to his new home in Cornwall today Easter Monday 2009. Hooch is a neutered male and
someone in his previous life used scissors on his body coat with results that the coat is now rather chopped. We hope in
time with lots of TLC, some coat supplements, lots of brushing and care his coat will look a bit better and his feathering, will
grow back. We look forward to hearing from Hooch's new Mum and Dad with some pictures of him in his new home.

| Hudson returning from a long run. |
HUDSON.
Hudson has gone to live with Margaret in Plymouth. He is settling in well and is learning to live with Margaret's two
cats. Hudson is a real ladies man, all the ladies fall under his spell and after visiting him at the kennels before he went,
I can understand why. Update: Hudson is doing well and even gradually learning to trust men again.
BEAU.
Beau has been successfully re-homed. She has gone to one of our tried and tested homes where, until a few months ago the
lovely Daisy lived. We hope that Beau's new Mum and Dad will have her for a long time as they did Daisy. We look forward
to receiving pictures of Beau in her new home and to seeing her at the Setter Party in September.
ALANNAH.
Alannah has now been re-homed. She is living in Kent with a neutered male Ben for a companion.
Looks as if she has made herself completely at home already.
JACKSON.
Our handsome boy Jackson is happily at home in Merseyside with two setter bitches. He has fitted in very well and has
even, quite oddly, met up with his litter brother. Such an extraordinary coincidence, Jackson's new owner has a friend who
owns an Irish Setter who is the same age as Jackson,we have found out that he is Jackson' brother!!!! We are looking forward
to hearing all about Jackson as he grows up.
RUSTY re-named BARNEY.
Who was re-homed in December is doing wonderfully well. Going to Dog School and won the best behaved dog at the Training.
He will go in for his Bronze Certificate next.
Keep up the Good Work Barney.
DUNCAN & CAMERON.
Duncan and Cameron have at last been re-homed together! This has taken time but we knew that these two boys needed to
stay together and in the right home. As Cynthia always says "There is always the right home out there for every one
of the needy setters who come to us, it's just a case of us finding it" I am delighted to say we found it. Wonderful
people who just could not wait to have the 'boys' and travelled in all the snow etc to Huntingdon to take them home to Cleveland.
We are so looking forward to hearing all about how they are doing and getting pictures to put here.
RED.
Red now happily re-homed in Derbyshire. We look forward to seeing pictures of him in his new home

the cats, loves her walks and is very much appreciated by her new Mum and Dad.
RASCAL.
Rascal has been re-homed. He has settled in wonderfully in his new home in Suffolk. Rascal is happy, his new family are
happy and we in Rescue have done our Job. Above Rascal is relaxing after a long walk and play on the beach. We hope to see
his in September at the Setter Party.
RUBY.
Ruby has gone to her new home. From a very sad story Ruby's story has a happy ending. Ruby was sold by her breeder to
the family she came to us from. The sad part is that Ruby was alone with her 'Mum' when she died and the owners body was
not discovered for three days. The police had been alerted by the ex-husband when he failed to get any reply to either his
phone calls or e-mails. The police broke in and Ruby had stayed by her 'Mum' At that point Ruby was given into the care of
the RSPCA and Rob, the ex-husband I believe had quite a job getting her back. Because of her experience she was nervous so
putting her into kennels was never an option. Fortunately one of the working Group, Margaret who lives in Plymouth, agreed
to foster her until the perfect home was found. The happy ending part is that we have found that perfect home for Ruby, and
strangely enough that home is situated next door to the home where Ruby was born!! What about that, she has
travelled half way across the country and come back to where she was born. Her new owners says that she was obviously
meant to have Ruby.
RUSTY.
Our Dear little Rusty has gone home to Somerset just in time for Christmas. He has gone to tried and tested owners who
owned Josh until he went to the Kennels in the Sky earlier this year (2008). We look forward to hearing all about Rusty
in his new home and will show pictures of him here when they come to hand.
REBUS.
Our baby boy Rebus has made the long journey from Essex to Lancashire to his new family. We look forward to keeping in
touch and hearing all about his exploits as he grows up.
FINN.
Finn that handsome lad is happily settling into his new home. We are looking forward to getting some pictures of him
with his new family.
BRANDY.
Our very special blind boy Brandy has now been living with Annette and her family since December 2008. He is so well
loved and looked after, he has put on weight and is happy and contented, and can, like any other setter, have his naughty
moments - like killing one of Annette's hens!! We are hoping that with time he will leave her cats alone, he seems to think
that they are put there for him to chase, they dare not come too close!! Annette has reported that he is indeed a very special
fellow. Despite his blindness it is quite extraordinary what he can do and although he does use his adopted sister Maisie
as a guide sometimes, he does very well on his own in places he has become used to. We are putting Brandy's Story on our
web site as one of our Special Cases.
JUNO
Juno is happily re-homed and having a whale of a time being spoil by his new owners, and admired by all who meet him.
ALLY.
Ally's owners have found her a lovely new home. The Rescue wishes her well in her new home. Have a long and happy life
Ally.
ORLA.
Our pretty bitch Orla is happily settled in Wales with her new Mun and her best friend Flynn.
BARNEY.
Barney, who came in with Jack but it was decided it would be better to re-home them separately, is also now re-homed.
We were so happy that they both went out within 2 days of each other. Barney has gone to live with a spayed bitch, where
there are fields to gallop around in. We look forward to see ing pictures of him in his new surroundings
JACK.
Jack has gone to his new home. He is settling in well and his new owners say they are delighted with him. They find him
to be a gentle and happy dog. He is already very much attached to his new 'Dad" We look forward to having pictures of
him in his new home.
Rua is now re-homed in Cornwall. His new owners made the long journey from Cornwall to Cambridgeshire to collect him. They
tell me he has explored his new home and is settling in very well. We look forward to seeing some pictures of him with his
new family.
Billy has been re-homed and we look forward to seeing some pictures of him in his new home in Essex. Billy's new Mum and
Dad are delighted with him and say that he is wonderful as they knew he would be. Another one of our 'little ones' we look
forward to meeting again at the 2009 Setter Party.
Unfortunately it was found that Billy had entropian in both eyes, now he has had an operation to correct this and is making
a good recovery.
That Special Setter - Handsome Toby, has been re-homed by us for the second time. This very special lad came to us when he
was just 11 months, big, handsome and outstanding. We found what we thought was a perfect home for him - large house, over
2 acres and people around. However, Toby did not settle, dug holes for England and nobody was happy. When he came back to
us we wondered what kind of home we could possibly get where he would be happy. Fate took a hand in the form of Lesley, an
experienced Irish Setter owner who heard that RockMeadow Kennelled for the Rescue and decided to pay them a visit. It was
love at first sight, Lesley came practically daily to the kennels to calm and train Toby and how he responded. Now a different
dog entirely, he is Lesley and her husbands pride and joy. Look out everyone at next year's Setter Party because handsome
Toby will be coming.
Copper has gone to his new home in West Yorkshire. He is settling in well with the resident dog and should be a lovely companion
when he has a bit of training. Already he is off the lead and running free which must feel wonderful for this young and lively
lad. More pictures of Copper in his new home shortly.
MCKENZIE HAS NOW BEEN RE-HOMED. MORE PICTURES IN HIS NEW HOME SHORTLY
Oscar went to his this week October 1st. He has settled in very well and his new owner is delighted with him. He is such
a gentleman, so well behaved and a pleasure to own.
GROUSE.
After nearly 4 months in Kennels Grouse has gone to his new home. We in Rescue could never understand why nobody seemed
to want Grouse, although he is supposed to be 9 years old he never behaved like an older dog. In the Kennels he was wonderfully
behaved, gave no problems, was good with dogs and people and it was a mystery why we did not find a home for him sooner.
However, he has gone to people we already know who have our bitch Tally(who was Ezra). Grouse is delighted to be in his new
home, Clive and Vivyan and their family are simply delighted with Grouse, they say he has settled in as if he has always been
there. Tally adores him and has cheered up since his arrival, she is also eating better as she became depressed when the
German Wire Haired Pointer died. We are so pleased for Grouse, who is one of the nicest setters we have had in the kennels.
CLANCY.
Our Lovely Clancy has now been re-homed. His new family live in Devon and made the long journey to Cambridgeshire to
collect Clancy last Saturday. He is being very good at present and loves the car and all the fuss and attention he is getting.
Handsome Rhuia wasn't with us for long, so many people were interested to have him. He is now in his new home with a Golden
Retriever bitch for a friend and a lovely human family to care for him. We are looking forward to seeing all the family at
the Setter Party. UPDATE. RHUIA & FAMILY CAME TO THE SETTER PARTY AND RHUIA WON RESERVE BEST IN SHOW. He is pictures
with his proud owner and Judge Colin Waddell.
Murphy, our three year-old boy has now gone to live in his new home where we hope he will be happy with his new owners. Murphy
will feature in the magazine 'YOURS' with pictures of him with his new owner. Clare Metcalf, who can communicate with animals,
has had a very successful conversation with Murphy enabling us to know more about this exceptionally clever dog. More pictures
when we get them from his new owners.
MORRIS.
Morris, 6 year old entire male setter has been successfully re-homed with owners known to Rescue as they have already
had a setter from us. The new owners are delighted with this handsome, well trained and affectionate boy and Morris has
settled in very well.
ROLO
Rolo the setter who came to us from Ireland, had been thrown out of a car and was very nervous and submissive has found
a new Mum and Dad. He is much better in a home than we ever imagined, clean in is bed, running free off the lead and coming
back and we have every hope that his confidence will grow with lots of TLC and care. His new owners are very pleased with
his progress and we in Rescue are so happy that this little frightened boy will blossom in his new home.
BENNY
Five year old Benny is happily settled in his new home. He likes being the centre of attention and is already a well known
dog in the neighbourhood. He has made friends with the
3 cats in the home and is a happy and much loved setter
SHANNON
Shannon is much loved in her new homw. She is now a pretty, well developed and happy young bitch, totally unlike the thin,
sad and unhappy little five month old we took in.
TESSA
We re-homed Tessa and Shannon in separate homes as Shannon was in her mother's shadow. Both are now very happy as only dogs.
Tessa has proved to be a very easy going setter and is much loved and appreciated by her new Mum and Dad.
LOTTIE
Lottie has been very successfully re-homed with John. Lottie and the new kitten get along famously and Lottie has become
a great favourite with all the neighbours in the small Close where John lives. Lottie loves her new life, and all the long
walks and the attention she gets. Lottie has not been any trouble at all, she has settled into her new home so very well.
RUBY.
Ruby now thirteen months is loved and adored in her new home.
She came in only because it became impossible for her then owner to give her all the attention and exercise she needed. Ruby
was loved in her first home and that love continues in her new family
Findlay is a 3 year old entire male setter. He is well trainned ( except for
coming back when at exercise), a good traveller and good in the home. Findlay is in our care because of family change of circumstances.
He is a much loved member of that family and we need a home for him where he will remain and loved and an important member
of his new family.
Findlay has never been used to children so a home without young children is needed. He is used
to a very large , well fenced garden and we would need his future home to have likewise. He is an excellent traveller. He loves
toys and has a special toy that is important to him - his Easter Bunny
Finnegan was born and bred in France from the working strain. He is approximately
5 years old, neutered, vaccinated and micro-chipped with a very happy disposition. He is a very lucky dog as he would undoubtedly
not be alive now if he had not been rescued in February 2006.
He had lived all his life before that time chained up
outside a farm building in a country area of France. A young Dutch man drove past where Finney was tied up every day whatever
the weather. He could see that the dog was getting thinner and thinner and he had something wrong with one of his front feet.
Eventually, although his family had no garden, he approached the farmer to ask about the dog and about what was wrong with
his foot. He was told that if he wanted him he could have him!!
The vet who treated him, said that maybe his foot
had been run over by a farm vehicle, there was infection that was treatable but had he been left he would not have survived
more than a week or two. Finnegan was eventually given to an English family who had land and he loved to run and run. Now
that the family have returned to England some six months ago and because they are in the middle of sheep and stock country
Finnegan cannot have the free exercise he so loves. We are looking for setter people who have a very large garden where Finnegan
can run to his hearts content and be safe. Finny lives with a Collie at present so as home with a bitch could well be suitable.
This lovable, friendly and handsome fellow needs that special loving home that every setter should have.
Darcy came to us at 15 weeks - a dear little baby in need of
lots of care and TLC. Darcy is now Anglea's Baby and growing up fast. Darcy's previous Mum was ill and could not manage
her. She now gets all the attention she could possibly want and we in the Rescue look forward to watching her grow up.
