Guinness came to us from Ireland in December 2006. He was adopted by Sue & Ed Miller on January 25th 2007. A Setter
from the working side of our breed, Guinness was a great favaourite whilst in the Kennels at Rockmeadow. Guinness has a wonderful
life in Lincolnshire and is a much loved member of the Miller family. We were all very proud of our wonderful boy when he
won Best In Show at a local "fun type" show, beating almost 100 dogs including other pedigree dogs.
Well Done Guinness.
Tessa come into our care in May together with her 5 months old daughter Shannon. Because Shannon was small, thin and frightened
of her Mother it was decided to re-home them in different homes. Tessa went to live with Barry Clayson and his partner Janet
in May 2008. Tessa is happy and thriving, does not seem to miss Shannon at all, is the center of attention and is a happy
and gentle bitch much loved and appreciated.
George came to us in December 2006 with his brother Boof when they were just over a year old. We decided that they needed
to have a home each where they could get all the attention. George went to live with the Gorse family on December 16th 2006.
He is very much part of the family, just another lad to go with the Gorse boys.

| Bracken the youngest 10 year old we have come across |
BRACKEN. Bracken came into our care in April 2009.
He was reluctantly given up by his owner who had owned him from puppyhood. Unfortunately due to changing work circumstances,
being away from home from Monday until Friday, with just people coming in throughout the day to feed and walk Bracken,it was
decided this could not continue. Bracken went to live in Wales with the Hibbert family and he is having a wonderful
time with someone home all day for company, lots of walks on the beaches and fields. He loves to go into the sea
and is a very spoilt and loved setter. Bracken was 10 years old when he came to us- we qestioned this as nobody could
believe he was that age. He looked and acted like he was 7 or 8 years. He has become a well known and much admired
dog in the village where he lives - quite a character in fact.
HENNESSY. Hennessy came to us from Ireland, from Limerick Animal Welfare in April 2006. He went directly
into a home we had waiting in the London area. Most unfortunately the home did not work out. mainly due to the fact
that we were told someone would be home for most of the day and they were not! Poor Hennessy came back with a bad reputation
for being unmanagable with the added problem that whilst in this home he had contracted Kennel Cough. No Kennels would
take him, he also had entropian which we knew about and wanted to have this operation done asap, but until he was in a stable
home and the Kennel Cough had cleared nothing could be done about his eyes. Some people who had owned one of our
setters and who had moved to a country area and had no dogs at that time, agreed to foster him for us until his kennel cough
was over. How unlucky can one dog get! these people just hated poor Hennessy, phoning with complaints about him nearly every
day and we knew that we had to take him out of there. We were stuck, none of us had either the room or were willing to take
a dog with Kennel cough into our homes! Our good friend Jenny Penna (Engllsh Setter Rescue Co ordinator ) came to our aid
even though she had a number of dogs of her own.None of Jenny's dogs actually caught Kennel Cough, she looked after Hennessy
so well, even getting her own vet to operate on his Entropian which Rescue were pleased to pay for and it was a complete success.
Eventually, Mr & Mrs Lilley, who were staying at there holiday home in Cornwall, heard about Hennessy, went to Jenny's
to meet him and agreed to take him. Hennessy by this time, was completely confused having been in 3 different homes
in the matter of a few weeks, and was not an easy dog. However, these wonderful owners persevered with training and
now have a great Setter, who adores them and is much loved. A happy ending for Hennessy due entire to Jenny Penna and the
Lilley family. A Big Thank YOU to Jenny and Barry & Janet Lilley.
